I say no to a phone upgrade, VA Wine In My Pocket blog

I am trying to do my best staying on a strict budget, at least out of not buying extra things I don’t need or accumulating more monthly charges.

My phone has been quite annoying lately and not even able to last throughout a single conference call for work.  I decided to spend $3.05 + s/h for a new cell phone battery because there is nothing wrong with my phone other than its charge capacity.  I have been fighting the urge constantly on upgrading to a new smart phone and having to buy all the accessories.  I also know I will have been tempted to buy a lot of new apps so I figured I would resist for now.  Within the next few months though, I think I will buy an iPod Touch or something similar because most places you can get free wireless where I would want to use it anyway.  I refuse to pay for the internet in yet another place even though we already pay for it at home and it’s paid for me to use at work.

On another note, I came across an interesting read – VA Wine In My Pocket – regarding Virginia Vineyards.  What separates this from the rest is that they seem to really enjoy visiting them all and not only concentrating on talking about the wines like a lot of the other VA wine blogs do.  I feel it’s important to talk about all aspects of the Virginia Vineyards.  They’re doing an iPhone travel guide to Virginia wineries, which sounds like it’ll be quite handy.  Fortunately they mentioned it would also be available for iPod Touch too!

Yeah, my phone’s battery also had to be replaced since I’ve had it for over 3 years now. I keep getting mail from Vz about my discount with every 2… but I don’t feel like paying an extra 30 bucks a month for a data plan. Sigh… I might give in one of these days as I do really like those smartphones.

my new one lasted just under a week without charging it… it’s nice! and yes, i get so annoyed with all the calls, texts, and mail about my new every 2… it’s annoying… if they would pay me $30/month, i would definitely get a new phone but i don’t think i’d use it enough to justify the $30/month…. after we get a house though, i’d like to get a smart phone… i may just get an ipod touch soon so i can at least use it whenever i have free wireless where i’m at, including at home… but then again, can i justify doing that when i could just use my computer instead… who knows
